Why Basalt Line

Concrete fails from the ground up. Most cracked driveways had a thin base, no steel, or joints in the wrong place. We dig out, compact in layers, lay mesh on chairs and cut control joints where the slab wants to move, so the cracks you'd normally get go where we put them.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

How soon can I drive on it?

Walk on it the next day, drive a car on it after seven days. Heavy vehicles wait twenty-eight.

Will it crack?

All concrete can crack. Control joints are there so it cracks in a straight line where we choose, and a proper base and steel stop the cracks that matter.

Do you remove the old driveway?

Yes. We break it up, cart it away to be recycled, and price it in the quote.

What about council crossovers?

We apply for the permit, pour to council's spec and book the inspection.

Does it need sealing?

Exposed and coloured finishes, yes, at the end of the job and every three to five years after. It keeps the colour and stops oil stains soaking in.
